Thailand's Loi Krathong Festival
12th Nov 08

Loi Krathong is one of the most popular Thai festivals held annually when the moon is full and the monsoons have left the water levels high.

Krathong is the name for a float usually decorated with banana leaves, fresh flowers, a candle for light and incense sticks. Traditionally people celebrating Loy Krathong will place their Krathong into a river and make a wish for good luck. It's believed that bad luck floats away with the Krathong.

Loi Krathong Thai festival is celebrated all around Thailand beside rivers, canals and other sources of water. For a list of events taking place during this year's Loi Krathong festival follow this link or watch the video here to find out more.
